After speaking with Bill Douglas of World Tai Chi and Qi Gong Day, I felt the push to do something creative. We discussed flow state and the holistic mind quite a bit. Continuing the theme of connections between people, I was thinking about the connections that were never made, such as unrequited love or chances that were never taken. So, I synthesized that into a feeling which I've so far turned into words but not sounds.
This one's called Butterflies Uncaught.
Butterflies Uncaught
Two doors and a window
Empty room, full of shadows
Of what we once were
Of what we will never be
Both locked, caught a glimpse though
Through a crack in the window
Of what I could’ve been
Of what I wanted to see
Unborn memories
Thoughts never thought
Caged birds flying free
Butterflies uncaught
Forgotten loves, unrequited
Un-promised, undecided
The ember never burnt
Never learns to glow
The dark of fear fills the air now
No eyes to see, we’re scared now
Of what we could’ve been
Of what we wanted to know
Unborn memories
Thoughts never thought
Caged birds flying free
Butterflies uncaught
Unborn memories
Thoughts never thought
Caged birds flying free
Butterflies uncaught
Let them go
Let them go
Let them go
Let them go
Let them go
Let them go
Two doors and a window
Empty room, full of shadows
Of what we once were
Of what we will never be
